What is Antifreeze?

by Andrew Automoto2. January 2014 09:23

Antifreeze is a liquid also known as Coolant in those countries that reach 0° Celsius. Typically one based on ethylene glycol, which can be added to water to lower the freezing point, chiefly used in the radiator.

While the coolant stops the vehicles engine from overheating, Antifreeze stops the engine from freezing during those cold winter months.

Antifreeze is not a product that has to be purchased separately - your Coolant and Antifreeze are the same thing!

In countries that reach 0° Celsius Coolant is also knows as Antifreeze.
